I grew up playing various sports including netball, hockey, rounders and cricket, and at 16 I gained my Fitness Instructor qualification while working part time at a local gym. My interest in sport started to stretch beyond taking part and Sport Science became my passion, with an ultimate goal to work as a Sport Nutritionist with elite athletes after graduation. Other than going to the gym, I love to travel with a little adventure, and I have been lucky enough to trek in the Himalayas in Nepal, the Sahara Desert and the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, Iceland and the Maasai Highlands in Tanzania. Following a bout of Covid during my second year of university, I was diagnosed with PoTS (Postural Tachycardia Syndrome). My diagnosis has given me a new found appreciation for exercise and nutrition as they play a significant part in managing my illness. I have realised how important it is to take care of my body, fuel it properly, and to never let anyone tell me that I can't do something!
